I ended up with a pretty high bilirubin score and was diagnosed with jaundice. The doctors told mommy and daddy that they had to admit me back into the hospital to undergo quadruple phototherapy to try to bring down my bilirubin score. I was under the lights for 48 hours, and even had to be fed under them. Mommy and Daddy stayed in the hospital with me both nights. We watched the SuperBowl in the hospital. It was a long 2 days but I am all better now and boy was I glad to get home on Tuesday.
That's me under the phototherapy machine. It had the 3 lights over top and a 4th that I laid on. Mommy slept over to the left in a hospital bed 'cause she was still trying to recover and daddy slept on that pullout chair. They had a hard time not being able to hold me. They didn't sleep very well because they were constantly getting up to make sure I was okay and still wearing my protective eye mask.
They were forced to feed me this way while I stayed under the lights. Mommy would pump and daddy would feed. They also had to change my diaper under the lights. But I sure did work on my tan! I'm just glad to be done with that.
